Two types: matrix pdc drill bits and steel body pdc drill bits.
Matrix body is made by Matrix powder in the sintering furnace, it is more wear resistance and abrasive than Steel body, used for deep oil and gas exploitation.
Steel body is made by AISI 4145H steel and heat treatment, the delivery time is faster and easier to repair. You will never worry about the blade being broken.

The first character is bit body structure:

The second character is used for soft to hard formation type :
--> 1: Very Soft.
--> 2: Soft.
--> 3: Soft to Medium
--> 4: Medium to hard
The third character is PDC cutter structure :
--> 1: Cutters bigger 19mm .
--> 2: Cutters 19-13mm (including 19mm).
--> 3: Cutters 13-8mm (including 13mm) .

The fourth character is bit profile :
-->1= fishtail PDC bit
-->2= short bit profile
--> 3= medium bit profile

1: PDC bits are one part (it is also named Fixed cutter bits), there are no moving parts like tri-cone drill bits and No structural weaknesses, therefore it can bear higher ROP, and used for high-speed downhole motor and RSS application, achieve high efficiency. In the directional drilling process, it can bear a large lateral load without downhole accident, suitable for directional drilling;
2: PDC bits are wear-resistant and have a working life, suitable for deep well drilling and abrasive formations.
3: In the case of high temperature in the well, the bearing seal of the roller cone bit is easy to fail, but the problem does not appear when the diamond bit is used. So you will never worry use PDC bits in deep well drilling .
4: In drilling Wells smaller than 165.1mm(61/2inch), the roller cone bit's bearing suffers from strength and performance due to the spatial size limitation. PDC bits are not problematic, so PDC bits should be used in small-hole drilling.
5: PDC bits operate at lower weight one bit (WOB) than roller cone bits, so PDC bits should be used in situations where weight on bit is limited, such as to prevent oblique drilling.
