1. Drilling parameters of three cone bit


The determination of WOB and rotational speed not only determines the rock crushing efficiency of the tricone bit, but also affects the wear of the teeth and bearings of the tricone rock bit. In shallow wells and soft formations, the tricone bit is mainly used for shearing action, and generally high speed and low WOB are used. In medium-hard formations, the three-cone bit produces a comprehensive effect of shearing, impacting and crushing. Generally, medium speed and medium and high WOB are used. In deep wells and hard formations, the tricone bit is mainly crushed and impacted, and generally higher WOB and low rotational speed are used. Reasonable selection of drilling parameters largely determines the failure mode of the tricone bit. 2. Three cone bit collects formation lithology


The lithology and hardness of the formation are different, the rock crushing mechanism is different, and the failure forms of the tricone bit are also different. Rocks in different locations in the Earth's crust vary widely in their mechanical properties. The deeply buried rock is in a state of multi-directional compressive stress, which reduces the rock porosity and increases its strength. The rock in the upper well section is generally loosely cemented and soft, with high rotational speed of the tricone bit and low WOB. The lower well section generally has hard rock, high abrasiveness, low rotational speed of the tricone bit, high WOB, and long service time. According to the collected well section position and lithology drilling time records per meter, analyze the hardness, plasticity, brittleness, abrasiveness and drillability characteristics of formation rock, and confirm the selection of tricone bit according to the failure mode of tricone bit and whether it is fair to use. 4. Three cone bit collects wellbore structure


Different wellbore structures have requirements on the size, model and use of the tricone bit. For example, the tri-cone drill bit generally requires trimming teeth or a gauge structure, and the use requires high speed and low drilling pressure.
